High resolution LCD monitors are everywhere in today's market. Seems that every PC manufacturer these days includes one with their offerings and usually has some decent upgrade offerings for better and larger models at rather reasonable extra cost. As prices are dropping, it is almost crazy to think that anyone in the market for a monitor wouldn't be looking for a nice flat panel LCD monitor like the Acer AL2002W 20" wide screen monitor. Here at Benchmark Reviews, we are going to take a look at this budget minded monitor.

Benchmark Reviews has tested several different monitors over the past year, and even though they all offer nearly the same features there still seems to be a high premium paid for some names. Not SOYO. Last year we reviewed the 24-Inch DYLM24D6, which was an extremely popular widescreen monitor that could be purchased for less than $300. That was over a year ago, and so as you can imagine prices have come down a but since then. Today we get to offer another excellent value: SOYO 26-Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor MT-NI-DYLM26E6. Priced to be the most affordable monitor in its class, the DYLM26E6 carries an unbelievable value for any 26" widescreen LCD that can produce 1920x1200 WUXGA resolution.

High-resolution wide screen monitors are very hot right now. As with most computer trends, one will see a new technology start off expensive before growing into a less expensive and more mature product. LCDs have come a long way themselves; transitioning from an early-adopter, niche market due to poor viewing angles and high product costs into the de facto standard monitor for all new computer systems. Like any piece of hardware, many users aren't content with a single standard size and usually want something bigger, better, larger and more life-like or some such. Hence, large LCD monitors are becoming the new toys that many computer enthusiasts are picking up. The Samsung 2220WM-HAS represents a maturing line of larger wide screen monitors that are surprisingly inexpensive nowadays.

We have spent a lot of time at Benchmark Reviews talking about video cards recently - and with good reason. The discrete graphics segment of the market is currently afire with many outstanding price-to-performance options. When we looked at the offerings from the two biggest players, the NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX and ATI/AMD HD 3870, we saw that game performance even when scaled to high resolution was simply outstanding. This begs the question; why with such low-cost entrance into owning cards capable of "high-rez" gaming, most users are still running a display of 19" or less? Monitors are arguably the most important component for users, getting more usage than any other component of a PC. The only reasonable answer would have to be cost, as until recently displays above the 19" mark have been prohibitively expensive. That's where the SAMSUNG SyncMaster 245BW enters the scene as very attractively priced 24" widescreen LCD monitor.

Honeywell is brand new to the LCD monitor industry, which is why they called upon the expertise of SOYO. After making giant waves in the market with their 24-Inch DYLM24D6 ultra-affordable widescreen LCD, SOYO was put to work building an up-scale version with premium features. The end result of their work became the Honeywell Arius product line, which features an integrated webcam, microphone, speakers, and USB ports. The Honeywell Arius MT-SY-HWLM2216 22-Inch WSXGA+ widescreen LCD monitor boasts a quick 2ms response time. Benchmark Reviews has be fortunate enough to test this monitor in our labs, and we find out just how well it performs for hardcore gamers and casual PC users alike.

Don't let anyone have you believe that High Definition Televisions are the future. A more correct statement is that HDTV's are the present, the here and now, and have already been around for a few years. Unfortunately, not everyone is up to speed, and some are going to be very surprised by the changes in store ahead. You see, by the time this article is published there will be exactly one year remaining until D-Day hits and the transition to an all-digital terrestrial broadcast begins. In past articles Benchmark Reviews gave you specific instructions on how to survive this digital transition, which offered a guide on how to smartly buy your first HDTV. However, in this article we test one of the better alternatives for step-up consumers who want to enjoy full high-definition content without falling into the money pit. Benchmark Reviews has cleared a space atop the entertainment center to inspect the SOYO MT-SYXRT4791AB 47-Inch LCD 1080p Widescreen HDTV in this performance review.

Ask any gamer how big of monitor is the perfect monitor and you might just get a response of "the bigger the better". Today Benchmark Reviews takes a look at a LCD monitor aimed squarely at the "bigger is better" gaming crowd. The Hanns-G 28" LCD HG281DPB monitor seems to fit perfect with the typical gamer looking for the largest LCD screen they can get without breaking the bank. Featuring an Active Matrix TFT, 3ms response time, 1920x1200 resolution, and at a cost of under $600. On paper the specifications look great, but how would it actually perform in reality? I had to give it a shot.
