This holiday season has certainly been a season for sequels in the video game market. We've seen the release of Assassin's Creed III, Far Cry 3, Hitman: Absolution, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, and Planetside 2. Each of these releases has been highly anticipated by their respective fanbases. The new games include better-than-ever graphics, new engines, new features, and they further unravel their storylines. At Benchmark Reviews, we got our hands on one of the most highly anticipated of these new games, Assassin's Creed III: Deluxe Edition. In their second installment of the popular Guild Wars franchise, ArenaNet has certainly bought out the big guns. In this article, Benchmark Reviews will be reviewing their "Digital Deluxe" offering, which includes some compelling extras for those that plan to be in larger guilds. The game features a heavily modified Guild Wars 1 graphics engine, complete with totally new audio and cinematics engines which take advantage of today's DirectX 11 video and sound cards. Borderlands 2 is an exciting game that pulls you into a fantasy world that's been done a hundred times, but finds a way to give it to you like never before. While the game itself is a hybrid creation with familiar ingredients that taste of Eve Online, World of Warcraft, and Fallout, then seasoned with hints of Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty. Players assume the role of a "vault hunter" in one of four combat disciplines: Commando, Gunzerker, Assassin, and Siren. The character then fight bandits in first-person shooter format across a vast array of maps, but unlike most FPS-styled games, each level means better loot and tougher enemies.
