Corsair Obsidian 700D Full-Tower Case

Corsair is a widely known brand in the market thanks to its memory kits. However, since 2009, Corsair started entering new grounds like CPU cooling and PC cases. Those actions resulted in a very appealing Full Tower PC case; the Obsidian 800D, which won lots of awards in different countries because it presented tons of interesting features for high-end users. Of course, those features imply higher costs and therefore, the case is limited to high-end users only. In an attempt to bring a new contender and reduce prices, Corsair released the Obsidian 700D. The CC700D is quite similar to the 800D, but the side-panel window has been removed along with the hot-swappable drives bays, shaving $15 from the final price. Benchmark Reviews tests the Corsair Obsidian 700D Full-Tower Case to check if those removed features haven't diminished functionality and overall performance, and we'll see if it's worth saving $15 and get the 700D against the 800D.

Zalman CNPS9900 MAX 135mm CPU Cooler

Many years ago, I'd have recommended a Zalman CPU cooler above almost anything at the market. Those were the days, where best CPU coolers were totally different compared to nowadays. Since Full-Tower coolers started to appear, it seems like all companies followed the trend, obviously with a strong backup thanks to the performance obtained with this kind of coolers. While many brands now only produce full-tower coolers, there are some brands like Zalman, that still try to make their personal stuff, as we've seen with the CNPS9900 series. Even if Zalman has already launched some full-tower coolers, they're still ready to offer "different" solutions to the consumers, and the CNPS9900 MAX is about to show it. This CPU cooler comes with 3 (omega shaped) heat-pipes, which Zalman claims to be equivalent to a 6-heatpipe cooler. The CNPS9900 MAX also bundles a silent 135mm blue/red LED fan and a very nice and unique design. Said enough, can the CNPS9900 MAX be cool enough to compete against superb coolers like the severally awarded Prolimatech Megahalems? Of course, Benchmark Reviews is ready to put this cooler against the competition to check cooling performance against some very popular tower coolers...

Razer Lachesis V2 5600 dpi Laser Gaming Mouse

Razer debuted the original Lachesis 4000 dpi gaming mouse back in 2007. For its day, the Lachesis was one of the most sensitive mice you could buy, although by today's standards that 4000 dpi mark isn't such a big deal. Razer have updated the Lachesis V2 gaming mouse with a new design and new sensor, the 3.5G laser sensor in this new version supports up to 5600 dpi and the Lachesis has customizable lighting for both the wheel and the logo, which can be set to individual colors dependant on your preference. The Lachesis gaming mouse also features nine programmable buttons with 1000Hz ultrapolling for a 1ms response time. Benchmark Reviews will now put the Razer Lachesis V2 5600 dpi gaming mouse through its paces and report back with our findings for you.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 Video Card Performance

Everyone who waited for NVIDIA to launch their Fermi graphics architecture felt like they had held back once it was finally released. The GF100 graphics processor that was packaged into the GTX 480 used less than its full potential, and it didn't create the wide performance margin everyone expected between competitors. Seven months later, NVIDIA has returned with their updated Fermi GF110 GPU, delivering all 512 CUDA cores in the GeForce GTX 580. Featuring a tweaked graphics processor that runs much cooler and uses less power than the GTX 480, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 is tested by Benchmark Reviews against the Radeon 5970 and CrossFire 6870 video cards, along with two overclocked GeForce GTX 460's in SLI, using the latest DirectX-11 video games.

Ozone Radon 5K Laser Gaming Mouse

When gamer spends $1000 on new hardware but still uses a basic Microsoft mouse and keyboard they might be holding themselves back when it comes to their gaming experience. In order to fix this many companies have started creating peripherals specifically with the task of bringing about the best gaming experience possible. Ozone's newest addition to the fray is the Ozone Radon 5k Gaming Mouse which boasts the 5600DPI Twin Eye sensor, and a 1000Hz polling rate, all for around $70. These specs look like they could add up to a great mouse but can Ozone compete with the likes of Razer, Logitech, Steelseries, and even Microsoft? Benchmark Reviews will run the Radon 5k through its paces to see if it really is as good as it looks on paper.

OCZ Blade ST 2000MHz Low Voltage DDR3 Memory

The default speed for a 2:10 multiplier on a Core i3/i5 CPU is 1333MHz, and most will know too well that that even lower priced Intel H55/P55 Motherboards can support a 200 BCLK. If you like to dabble in the dark art of overclocking there are a few good reasons to choose a 2000MHz (PC3-16000) RAM kit. Firstly you have the options of lower voltage and tighter timings at lower speeds, and next you have the added benefit of higher memory bandwidth at the top speed. Last but not least though is the overclocking headroom, sure you could try to push your 1600MHz kit to 2000MHz but there are not too many kits that will do that, and you will certainly have to pay a premium. OCZ have a broad range of DDR3 RAM from basic to extreme, today Benchmark reviews will be testing the Blade ST 2000MHz Low Voltage Dual Channel 4GB Kit (PN: OCZ3BST2000LV4GK) for your reading pleasure.

In this article Benchmark Reviews tests the Sapphire 100315L Radeon HD 6850 video card, a 960 shader core DirectX-11 graphics solution that competes at the $180 price point with the 768MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 video card and the Radeon HD 5830/5770 to a lesser extent. Graphical frame rate performance is tested using the most demanding PC video game titles and benchmark software available. DirectX-10 favorites such as Crysis Warhead, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and PCMark Vantage are all included, in addition to DX11 titles such as Aliens vs Predator, BattleForge, Lost Planet 2, Mafia II, Metro 2033, and the Unigine Heaven 2.1 benchmark. The Radeon HD 6850 is AMD's latest DirectX-11 video card, and uses an updated Cypress back-end to offer 'Barts' GPU architecture. Built to deliver improved performance to the value-hungry mainstream gaming market, the Radeon HD 6850 video card supplements the 5800-series counterparts.

Zotac H55ITX-C-E Mini-ITX WiFi Motherboard

Zotac International was the first brand to launch a Mini-ITX H55 based motherboard back in January 2010. Other brands such as ECS Elitegroup and GIGABYTE followed the trend by launching their own Mini-ITX products, and they seem to be selling well. Here at Benchmark Reviews, we've already admitted our secret affair with HTPCs, and this time, we're testing the latest H55 ITX product available: the Zotac H55-ITX-C-E. This mini-board comes with USB 3.0 support and 6 S-ATA ports against 4 ports included in the competition. Zotac's the only brand to include not one, but two WiFi Antennas and a better PCB layout (24-pin connector). Benchmark Reviews tests the Zotac H55ITX-C-E Mini ITX Motherboard to check performance, functionality and overclocking capabilities within this newer version.
