Very recently Benchmark Reviews celebrated our first year on the web, and held a contest for our readers. One of the incentives to earn additional contest entries was to submit a user review of the monitor or television of their choice. A few of these articles are good enough to share with our audience, so we hope that you will find it just as helpful as our professional reviews. In this short article, Gary Smith reviews his Dell E228WFP 22-Inch widescreen monitor. Today we'll be reviewing the Dell E228WFP 22" widescreen LCD monitor. This monitor is widescreen and features a 16x10 aspect ratio. When you first turn this monitor on you'll notice it is extremely bright. It features a brightness level of 300cd/m2, a contrast ratio of 800:1, and a refresh time of 5ms.
The native resolution is 1680x1050 and I found it performs best at that resolution. After a few adjustments, I found the optimal settings to be 75 brightness and 80 contrast. The colors also seemed a bit off on my review sample, but changing the color settings to Red 83, Green 89, and Blue 90 greatly improved my viewing experience. The Dell E228WFP pairs stylish lines with functionality. Its convenient design and flexible tilt lets you adjust your monitor for comfortable viewing. The added ability to wall-mount your widescreen allows you to customize your widescreen within your home or office space Dell monitors are designed and built to our highest standards, providing the quality and reliability you expect when you see the Dell logo. Like all our products, the E228WFP has been exhaustively tested under true-to-life circumstances and it comes backed by a Dell Limited Warranty, so you can rest assured your investment is protected.
At the rear of the monitor you'll find connections for the power cable, a VGA cable, as well as a DVI cable. All of these cables are included in the box. The stand on this monitor is attached with four bolts and a wall mount can be easily installed. This monitor is HD and HDCP compliant and the price is an affordable $249.99.
Dell E228WFP Conclusion
I've tested this monitor with some of the latest games including Crysis and Call of Duty 4, and no visible ghosting was seen. As previously mentioned, once a few minor adjustments are made to the brightness, contrast, and colors, the picture really is quite nice. Pros:
