Well now ‘it' is here and boy is it something special. "It has been a little while since I got a weak in the knees for a piece of hardware, but that feeling is back with the GTX 690. I am almost getting that Voodoo II 12MB SLI feeling again! If you are one of "those guys," you are going to want a GeForce GTX 690." Sunday at the GeForce LAN taking place in Shanghai, NVIDIA's CEO Jen Hsun Huang revealed the secret, the GeForce GTX 690. The GeForce GTX 690 is our new flagship product and the world's fastest consumer GPU. Powered by dual Kepler architecture-based GeForce GPUs, GTX 690 is meticulously designed-inside and out-to deliver the most refined, elegant and smooth PC gaming experience. "Be still, my spec-hungry heart. NVIDIA's latest and greatest is a monster in a beautiful body. Dual-GPUs, 28nm Kepler architecture, 3,072 CUDA parallel processing cores, ARRGH ARRGH ARRRRRGH! This beast basically doubles the performance of the already awesome GTX 680." For the world's fastest GPU we really upped the industrial design ante, too. Crafted from a combination of aluminum and magnesium alloy, and cooled by dual vapor chambers, it is also the most visually striking graphics card we've ever designed. "Can you imagine a video card without any flimsy plastic parts? Now you can because the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690 will not be composed of any cheap plastics. A heavy duty dual vapor chamber cooling system relying on heavily nickel plated finstacks will sweat what little heat these GPUs pump out. A cast aluminum frame with trivalent chromium plating gives the card a unique look and tremendous rigidity. An injection molded magnesium fan housing adds to the formidable stiffness of the card. A brand new thixomolding process was used to get the required part precision. The fan housing is made from injection molded magnesium alloy. Magnesium alloys are used throughout the automotive and aerospace industry (including the engines of the Bugatti Veyron and F-22 Raptor) for their light weight, heat dissipation and acoustic dampening properties - which is the same reason we use it in the GTX 690." GFE is a complete cloud server solution which ensures game settings are optimized to play on your system, delivering the best possible gaming experience to your particular machine. "In order to make the experience of PC gamers reflect the quick setup nature of the console market, NVIDIA will be introducing GeForce Experience. GeForce Experience essentially leverages the power of cloud computing to store an almost unlimited number of system specifications and combinations alongside game information and requirements. Through a simple console-type application, your system can communicate with NVIDIA's cloud servers and the app can automatically optimize any game based upon your specific setup. No more lengthy setup process will be required. Naturally, you can still tweak to your heart's content after that but at least the initial setup will be done for you." With the GeForce Experience your customized, optimized game settings are one click away. "It's all based around an Internet connection and (presumably NVIDIA-powered) GeForce Experience supercomputers, which scan your system configuration when you boot up a game. Hardware components, operating system, driver status -- it'll all make a difference. After launching a game, you'll be presented with a listing of default game settings alongside a listing of settings recommended by NVIDIA for achieving the maximum eye candy possible with your PC. One simple click activates the optimal settings. NVIDIA and Phosphor Studios Create a Beautiful Nightmare with Dark Meadow: The Pact for Tegra 3-powered DevicesAfter much anticipation from Android enthusiasts and gamers alike, NVIDIA and Phosphor Studios launched the new game, Dark Meadow: The Pact, for mobile devices powered by Tegra 3.
