ASUS Intel Sandy Bridge Based Server Motherboard Introduced

ASUS was the launch partner for the Intel newest C200 server chipsets. Codenamed Bromolow, this chipset is the Sandy Bridge of servers. The P8B-X serverboard is available now, with support for dual and quad-core Sandy Bridge CPUs.

The new platform architecture features an LGA1155 socket and more PCIe 2.0 lanes for greater server application compatibility. Bromolow series motherboards regularly perform 25% faster than the previous generation chipsets. P8B-X supports Intel Xeon E3-1200 processors as well as Core i3, Core G8x0/G6x0 processors, and more.

Also present on the P8B-X are dual high quality Intel LAN controllers with IPv6 support, backward compatible with IPv4. Customers can deploy their new networks seamlessly due to excellent support for existing Ethernet environments, but will able to look confidently to the future with IPv6 quickly becoming a standard for Internet Protocol addresses.

P8B-X offers support for a wide range of OSes, all mainstream and client OSes including but not limited to SuSE Linux, Cent OS, Windows 7, and Windows 2008 R2.
