Call of Duty: Black Ops First Strike PC release in March

Activision have revealed that the First Strike map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops will be out on PC by the end of March. Activision have also set up a new company devoted to creating new DLC for Call of Duty. Read on for details and the First Strike trailer.

Activision made the reveal when announcing its quarterly financial results last night. They mentioned that the pack would be out on PC this financial quarter, which ends in March. Activision also announced the formation of a new company devoted exclusively to creating digital downloads for Call of Duty. The team will be called Beachhead, and have been tasked with creating "best in class digital experience for Call of Duty." It looks as though we can look forward to more Call of Duty: Black Ops map packs and expansions in future.

First Strike contains four new multiplayer maps and a new "zombie experience."

Stadium - competitive map set in an Ice Hockey rink.
Kowloon - multiplayer map that takes place on the rooftops of Kowloon
Berlin Wall - A multiplayer fight for checkpoint Charlie.
Discovery - A competitive map set in an Antarctic research facility, based on the Reznov mission from the singleplayer campaign.
Ascension - New zombie map with new weapons and creatures to fight.

There's no exact release date or price set for the PC version yet, but it should be out before April 1. Check out the official Call of Duty: Black Ops First Strike site for more information. Here's the First Strike trailer.

let me get this straight, we are expected to pay more money for 4 maps on an unfinished game. I have no interest in the zombie game so why should i have to pay for a zombie map i do not want? More to the point, the Battlefield series releases new maps and they are free so i think i will be dropping COD completely and going back to a playable, unlaggy and finished game. Bad Company 2 and roll on Battlefield 3 :o)

You make it sound like Activision is forcing you to buy the First Strike map pack. If you don't want it, then don't buy it.

I think the point he is trying to make is that the game is pure # due to all of the bugs everywhere in the game. I couldn't agree more. They are too greedy and worrying about money. They got your initial $65 for purchase, so # fixing the game, now lets make them pay $15 for more maps....and again # fixing the game, all we want is money.

Typical # game developer.

As a relatively new member to the online gaming community, specifically BLOPS via STEAM, I find many things half pie!
I feel paying money for what appears to be maps that were intended to be included in the original release, abhorrent.
I feel the amount of time needed to install the STEAM version ridiculous, especially when you consider I already had a completely legit version installed and running fine in sgl player. Quite frankly, the hoops people have to jump through and the time involved, make the entire experience practically murderous. I continue to have occasional problems with STEAM and find it really annoying that they want you to login to play single player. I have noticed on several occasions that after playing for quite some time and then going to check one of the "Custom" profiles, my Level and $COD's had reverted back to what they were beforehand.
I realize most of the gripes seem to be at STEAM and not the Game Developers, however, there appear to be many problems with the game itself as well.
I am compelled to agree with the opinion that GREED is at the forefront and should be listed accordingly in the appropriate mission statements.

Cheers
