Biostar TH67XE Intel H67-Express Sandy Bridge Motherboard Previewed

The Biostar TH67XE is based on Intel's H67-Express Sandy Bridge chipset and supports their IGP platform (integrated graphics processor) using socket LGA1155 Intel Core processors. Dual-channel DDR3 is supported, HDMI, DisplayPort, digital DVI, and analog D-Sub ports are available for connecting a monitor or HDTV. Biostar's TH67XE offers SuperSpeed USB 3.0 support and SATA 6Gb/s storage bandwidth.

The Biostar TH67XE includes a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 graphics port, one PCI-Express x16 port, a single-lane PCI-Express x1 port, and a legacy PCI slot. The Realtek ALC889 CODEC provides 7.1-channel HD audio, while IEEE-1324 FireWire and Gigabit Ethernet are also standard on the Biostar TH67XE.

those are pictures of two different motherboards...

was the article talking about two different boards? the visual differences are obvious, but were there supposed to be two previews? i can also see "usb3" printed on both boards, so that is cool.

mainly, what is model # of the second motherboard?

btw, there were supposed to be a few other chip makers that were coming out with usb3 controllers. i was hearing pronouncements back in january 2010 that more companies were going to produce usb 3.0 for motherboards, not just NEC.

yet all i see is NEC.

Is there really any competition for NEC yet?

So far, I haven't heard of another retail-ready SuperSpeed USB-3.0 controller. We'll wait and see what's used on Intel's own H/P67 motherboards.
