ASUS Reveals 2010 Republic of Gamers Product Line

Gaming has evolved into a leading growth industry and dynamic motivator for the technology sector, as CeBIT 2010 further illustrates. ASUS shares a definite passion in gaming, maintaining a tradition of innovation aimed at meeting the needs of gamers both with the hardcore Republic of Gamers brand (ROG) and powerful mainstream solutions. ASUS seeks to innovate and introduce new exciting ways to enjoy gaming, with the singular goal of pursuing perfection to provide the best experiences in gaming.

Delving Deeper
ASUS is featuring the 23" VG236H and the world's largest 120Hz gaming monitor, the 27" PG276H at CeBIT 2010. Both are full HD 3D displays that will blow gamers away with eye-popping visuals and 3D clarity. Both employ alternate-frame sequencing in conjunction with active shutter glasses, doubling screen refresh to 120 frames per second. The results are ghosting-free, smooth 3D that brings a new level of realism to the latest AAA game titles-an increasing number of which support the best 3D technology on the market currently, NVIDIA's GeForce 3D VisionTM.

The Reality of Moving
ASUS has managed to bring lifelike 3D to a gaming notebook-the G51JX 3D. An uncompromising machine in its own right, this notebook deploys an IntelTM Core i7 CPU to power unmatched 3D gaming on a 15.6" screen using NVIDIA's GeForce 3D VisionTM technology, the first notebook in the world to do so. And to celebrate the fact that the G51JX 3D cuts no corner in attaining these results, ASUS is including James Cameron's AvatarTM: The GameTM*.

ROG Formula and Extreme Motherboards
The upcoming Rampage III Extreme and Crosshair IV Formula and Extreme motherboards deliver the perfect platform for Intel X58 and AMD 890FX chipsets respectfully. Featuring four GPU support along with a brand new VRM design and a unique thermal implementation that ensures these boards deliver a high degree of performance whether gaming or overclocking and while ensuring cool temperatures and efficient operation. With these boards ASUS once again reaffirms why ROG motherboards are the choice of champions.

Along with the other innovations introduced in the new ROG board ASUS pushes the boundaries on how to overclock - ROG Connect and ROG connect Bluetooth are exclusive hardware driven tweaking suites, controlling a host of parameters from a Notebook, Netbook or any PC with a USB port. RC Bluetooth creates another milestone-Bluetooth based overclocking and monitoring on a Smartphone.

Incredible Power - Redefining the standard for graphics performance
Graphics cards are the frontier of PC gaming, and the Republic of Gamers goes where none have ventured before with the limited-edition ARES. A card unique in design and in performance, it possesses dual Radeon HD5870 GPUs and 4GB of GDDR5 RAM for up to a 23% performance improvement over the class leading Radeon HD5970.

As such, ARES is a limited production run product designed for users needing premium performance in a PC gaming machine. The custom fan design increases airflow by up to 600% compared to reference 5870 boards, yet ARES is decidedly quieter in operation.

Completing the Picture and Queuing the Sound
Gaming is only one possible experience on the PC. ASUS' commitment to multiple segments shows with our solutions for Multimedia - Video and Sound on the PC with the introduction of new Bravo Graphics Series and Xonar Sound solutions.

The Bravo 220 graphics card serves as a centerpiece of home theater PCs, combining exclusive ASUS SplendidTM Plus with unique light sensors to guarantee reactive video quality that matches ambient conditions. The Bravo 220 also comes with the Bravo Media Center, allowing users to enjoy movies, videos, music and photos using a remote control and intuitive interface. Bravo also excels in eco-friendly traits, saving over 28% compared to competing models and operating at a silent 0dB-perfect for home entertainment environments.

Working together with acclaimed Sennheiser acoustics professionals, ASUS has developed the soundcard-headset combo Xonar Xense to revolutionize the way people experience and hear gaming. While most PC gamers suffer from low powered headphone output due to limited designs, Xonar Xense pumps out a ample 7Vrms power through a built-in headphone amp. This brings out every audio nuance in games, movies and music, optimizing sound positioning and audio dynamics.

Games come to life with 118dB sound clarity, supporting EAX, DirectSound, Dolby technology and many other audio standards. The GX 2.5 audio engine drives the ultimate aural experience, making every movement, whisper and gesture tangible as the Xonar range caters to gamers with Game Profile, a utility to maximize audio by genre.
