Wyse Virtual Clients to Support Cloud Computing, the Latest Windows Embedded Technology, and Still Uses Only 1/10th the Power of a PCWyse Technology, the global leader in thin computing, today announced the Wyse R90LW and R90LEW devices based on Windows Embedded Standard, Microsoft's next generation of Windows XP Embedded. Windows Embedded Standard enables these advanced enterprise devices to run thousands of existing Windows applications and drivers for custom applications, as well as support applications in a cloud computing environment. The R90LW and R90LEW devices come with 2GB of Flash to store the OS and local functionality, and 1GB of RAM. "Our support of Windows Embedded Standard takes the performance and energy efficiency of our virtual desktop devices to new levels and demonstrates our continuing innovation in addressing the embedded market," said Ricardo Antuna, Senior Vice President, Product Management, Business Development and Alliances at Wyse. "We have taken the key benefits of our existing devices, and added new performance features and a seamless transition path to quickly meet market demand."
