100TB NAS and iSCSI Single-Rackmount Network Storage Server

Sans Digital, a leading provider of high performance storage subsystems, is introducing EN850L+BXE, a 8U 50-bay rackmount storage with up to 100TB of total storage capacity that supports both network sharing and direct attached connection. Based on the existing popular EliteNAS series that ranges from 1U 4-bay to 3U 16-bay rackmounts, the EN850L+BXE provides the same flexibility of supporting NAS and iSCSI, while dramatically increasing storage capacity by providing 50 hard drives in a single rackmount.

Information technology environment today often consists of multiple operation systems, including both PC and Mac. A NAS system, such as the EliteNAS EN850L+BXE, is a perfect choice when sharing information among different network clients. At the same time, its iSCSI feature allows the EN850L+BXE to act as a direct attached storage in an IP network, enabling server storage expansion and virtual machine via VMware or Microsoft Hyper-V. Based on the same platform as the existing EliteNAS series, the EN850L+BXE provides 50 hard drive bays in a single 8U rackmount format. Supporting the latest 2TB SATA and SAS hard drives, the EN850L+BXE allows up to 100TB in storage capacity, making it the largest storage unit in the EliteNAS series. Designed with a built-in expansion port, the EN850L+BXE is capable of expanding up to 122 drives or 7 more EliteSTOR JBOD units, for a maximum of 244TB in total storage capacity. To maintain optimal performance, the EN850L+BXE utilizes the latest Intel Nehalem Xeon processor Dual Quad-Core CPU, and has four built-in Gigabit Ethernet ports with a 10G networking upgrade option.

In addition to its large storage capacity, the EliteNAS EN850L+BXE is built with enterprise redundancy features for maximum data protection. Utilizing 1200MHz RAID processor, hard drive failures are protected by RAID 1, 3, 5, 6, 10 30, 50 and 60. The built-in NAS-to-NAS folder replication and snapshot feature allows simple data backup. The built-in event log and e-mail notification record critical system information and allow real-time troubleshooting alerts. With four hot-swappable redundant power supplies, virus resistant OS, and SSD-like disk-on-module, the EN850L+BXE minimizes system downtime when failures occur. Server fail-over mirroring is available upon request.
