Samsung VBM19C1Q Firmware Updates OCZ Summit SSD with TRIM/GC SupportWhen Benchmark Reviews tested the OCZ Summit SSD back in June 2009, the Samsung firmware was version 1.0 and performed well-enough without TRIM or Garbage Collection (GC) features. Today, OCZ Technology offers the first update to the Summit-series since its intial launch. The new (free) Samsung VBM19C1Q firmware update now offers a TRIM/Garbage Collection for the OCZ Summit SSD. TRIM features are enabled under Windows 7, while Garbage Collection operates under Windows XP, Vista, OS X.
