Solid State Disk Pioneer BiTMICRO Networks Named as Founding Member of New Solid State Storage InitiativeBiTMICRO Networks, a pioneer in intelligent flash solid-state drive solutions, has joined the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) Solid State Storage Initiative (SSSI), a new group established in cooperation with more than 20 other computer storage developers and vendors. The SSSI's main objective is to promote the widespread adoption of solid-state storage in commercial and consumer storage environments. The group will lead the way in evaluating and furthering the development of standards specific to solid-state storage technology and promote the advantages of solid-state storage through continuing education for vendors and various user communities all over the world. "The emergence of the solid state storage technology has the attention of many IT industry segments including for commercial applications. The SNIA SSSI hopes to establish industry standards and advance market adoption by partnering with industry leaders including solid state storage pioneers such as BiTMICRO Networks," says Vincent Franceschini, Chair of the SNIA. "With years of Solid State Disk experience tucked under our belt, BiTMICRO Networks can contribute significantly to the SSSI's effort to further develop and contribute to solid state storage standards.
