ASUS Eee Pad Transformer TF101 Dockable Android Tablet
The Eee Pad Transformer TF101 is the first complete tablet solution that delivers the mobility and convenience of a tablet with the productivity of an ultra-mobile notebook - productivity that competing tablet solutions can't deliver. Tablets have generated tremendous momentum over the past year, but this momentum has been tempered by the realization that that until now, most have been more suited to content consumption than content creation. The Eee Pad Transformer solves this problem in an innovative way. In its tablet form, it offers all of the convenience and mobility one would expect of a tablet. But this tablet snaps right into an optional docking station, converting it into an ultraportable notebook suitable for creating the full spectrum of documents, email, and projects needed in academia, the business world and every day life.
Ringing Endorsements
The Eee Pad Transformer launched to universal acclaim from editors of the top technology magazines. Eee PC Transformer has been called "... the Honeycomb tablet to get..." (Anandtech), "... the best Android slate we've seen...." (Computer Shopper), the tablet that "impresses us most so far..." (Laptop Magazine), and "the best Android Honeycomb tablet on the market" (TechnoBuffalo). In reference to the design, Laptop said "There can only be one king of the catwalk, and this tablet is it." There are numerous reasons for the excitement.
Keyboard Dock
The first thing that makes the Transformer special is that it features an optional docking station that extends battery life from 9.5 hours to up to 16 hours* and incorporates a 92% QWERTY keyboard. It also incorporates a multi-touch touchpad, 2 USB 2.0 ports, and an SD card reader. The introductory MSRP of the dock is $149USD.
Vivid Viewing
The Eee Pad Transformer's 10.1" LED-backlit IPS multi-touch screen has an ultra-wide, 178° viewing angle that is perfect for sharing content. Users can also output Full HD 1080p content to a large external display via the tablet's mini-HDMI port. An energy efficient NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor provides full support for Adobe Flash 10.3, faster loading times, and 2x faster browsing - all the while consuming less power. The Eee Pad Transformer also features DLNA support for wireless viewing of digital content on compatible external screens.
Built to Last
Encased in thin but strong Corning Gorilla Glass, the Eee Pad Transformer stands up to the scuffs and scratches incurred from frequent travel or constant classroom use. Gorilla Glass is thin, yet exceptionally resistant to scratches and damage from impact. Both Eee Pad Transformer versions (16GB and 32GB) also feature flash drives that withstand drops and impacts far better than traditional hard drives.
Portable Productivity
The keyboard dock, Polaris Office and enhanced Gmail give Eee Pad Transformer users the means to stay as productive on the Eee Pad Transformer as they would on a notebook. Polaris Office includes applications for Word, PowerPoint, spreadsheet and PDF.
Android 3.1 (Honeycomb) "Does"
Android 3.1 is a new version of the Android platform that is specifically optimized for devices with larger screen sizes, particularly tablets. It introduces a new, content-focused interaction model. It also offers refined multitasking, rich notifications, Home screen customization, widgets, and more. Across the system and in all applications, users have quick access to notifications, system status, and soft navigation buttons in a System Bar, available at the bottom of the screen. There are currently over 200,000 applications for Android tablets, and the number is growing quickly.
The Cloud Meets Convenience
ASUS' Waveshare Interface hosts a variety of unique applications that help you easily launch software, manage content, access online services and connect devices with a few simple taps. The Eee Pad Transformer comes with unlimited WebStorage for one year, and MyCloud is also included. MyCloud is a total cloud solution, providing access to digital content such as music, videos and files from the cloud anywhere, anytime. Users can use MyCloud to remotely access and control any PC or Mac system and access applications or files to extend the versatility of the Eee Pad Transformer experience.
The Eee Pad transformer is sexy, innovative, and will appeal to the growing throngs of people who want the tablet experience without a loss of productivity.
