Acer's sexy Liquid E smartphone is a smooth operator; Sleek, intelligent and intuitive, it has all the right moves

Acer announced today that its Liquid E smartphone is available for purchase by customers in Canada exclusively through Rogers Communications, Canada's leading wireless provider. The elegant Liquid E is an attention getter that looks as good as it performs. In addition to an eye-catching design, it sports an ultra-fluid tactile interface, the user-friendly Android 2.1 Éclair operating system and three predictive keyboard options.

Speed, Power and Embedded 3D Graphics
Measuring just 115mm long x 64mm wide x 12.75mm thick, the Liquid E is sleek, yet comes with a 3.5-inch WVGA capacitive display offering ample viewing area and intuitive, precise operation. The Qualcomm 8250 768 "Snapdragon" processor and embedded 3D graphics accelerator provide the power to instantly open applications and advanced games running in parallel with other functions for optimum productivity. Integrated Wi-Fi b/g and HSDPA 7.2Mbps fuel fast connectivity that's accessible almost anywhere. The battery affords up to five hours of talk time and up to 400 hours in standby mode.(1)

The Liquid E offers three XT9 keyboards, which include Qwerty, Half Qwerty and 12-Digit Numeric that can be conveniently viewed in both landscape and portrait modes. All three keyboards are intelligent, offering predictive and corrective text input and a multilingual dictionary with just one click necessary to toggle between languages. When users search for a contact via the digital keypad, predictive input suggests contacts to save users time keying in the entire name. When texting, predictive input guesses the word the user is spelling, extending the ability to select the word without having to finish typing it. Corrective input provides one or more options for correcting a misspelled word.

Liquid E offers the ability to synchronize and back up files, contacts and the calendar with a PC. The new contacts application provides the flexibility necessary to organize the phonebook for maximum efficiency. The enhanced dialer makes finding contacts faster than before and Quick Contacts is an easy way to engage with associates, family and friends using functions like Call, Send Message, Send Email, Open Details Card and Locate on a Map from various areas of the phone.

Ultra-Fluid Navigation and Efficiency
The Android Éclair 2.1 design refresh has made the navigation of menus and applications smooth. Enhanced with Acer's integrated widgets and on-screen keyboard, Éclair 2.1 enriches the multimedia experience with excellent contacts management, voice activated functions, comfortable text typing and long battery life. It also sports lean, sleek icons and sophisticated animations, including an interactive gallery of live wallpapers with ripple, day and night effects and more.

The updated lock screen has an entirely new look and feel, and allows users to mute sound without unlocking the device. There are more than 50,000+ applications developed specifically for the Android market that are available for downloading.

The user-friendly browser makes keeping abreast of the latest news a cinch. It can zoom in and out of a web page and browse bookmarks with page preview, and sync these bookmarks.

Newly Enhanced 5MP Camera, Camcorder and Gallery
Acer's Liquid E can enrich a user's free time with music and HD720p quality videos, either from the Web using YouTube or within the device via Spinlets. They can also link to Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and other social networking sites.

The new and improved camera and camcorder functionality saves time. By simply touching the screen or pressing the side shutter key, users can capture images quickly and easily with the integrated 5MP camera. The refreshed gallery application allows users to browse pictures and videos in an elegant, fluid 3D interface. They can also preview photos and video albums with a new thumbnail-based interface and browse pictures in animated 3D.

UrFooz extends the ability to create an avatar and share it. In addition to HD video, users can enjoy 3D games, browse the Web and stream video at high speeds.

Integrated GPS and Google Latitude
Getting lost is a thing of the past with Liquid E. With the integrated GPS, you can determine where you are at the moment, a friend's destination and how to get somewhere by foot or car. Using Google Latitude, you can locate yourself on the online map, find places in the city, book a restaurant or hotel and obtain directions. It's also possible to teleport yourself anywhere in the world with street view in compass mode. In addition, it offers real off-board turn-by-turn GPS navigation with streaming of maps on the go.

Pricing/Availability
The Liquid E smartphones are available for customers in Canada via Rogers with prices beginning at $49.99 with a three-year contract.
